Step 1: Start at the desktop. Find your "Outlook Express" icon and double click on it.
Step 2: Click on the "Tools" menu at the top of the Outlook Express window. Scroll down to "Accounts" and click on it.
Step 3: Click on the "Add" button. A menu will pop up with three selections. Choose the first one, "Mail..."
Step 4: Here you should enter your name as you would like it to be displayed on your outgoing e-mail messages. This can be your full name, an abbreviation, your family name or maybe just your first name. It's up to you.
Click "Next" when you are done.
Step 5: Enter in your e-mail address. This address is your Tumwater Internet login name with the suffix "@tumwater.net". See the image for an example.
Click the "Next" button to continue.
Step 6: In this step, you will enter the addresses of Tumwater Internet's mail servers. Leave "POP3" selected in the drop-down box. In the first dialog box, you should enter pop3.tumwater.net. In the second, enter smtp.tumwater.net. Please make sure that these are in all lower case, and have no spaces in them.
Click the "Next" button to continue.
Step 7: You will now need to enter your username and password for your Tumwater Internet e-mail address. This will be the username and password that you recieved when you signed up for your Tumwater Internet account. The username and password are case-sensitive, so you need to enter them exactly as they read on your sign-up sheet. Leave the other options here as defaults. Note: For security reasons, Windows will not display your password as you type it. Instead, you will see stars in place of the characters, so you must make sure to type it in correctly.
Click the "Next" button to continue.
Step 8: At this point, Outlook Express is configured for your Tumwater Internet e-mail account. Please click on the "Finish" button, then close the "Accounts" window.
Congratulations! You have successfully configured your computer for your Tumwater Internet e-mail account.
